Summary

CVE-2023-48964 is a newly discovered buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Tenda i6 V1.0.0.8(3856). This issue arises due to an insufficient input validation mechanism in the /goform/WifiMacFilterSet function. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending maliciously crafted data to the Wi-Fi Mac Filter Settings, causing the buffer to overflow. The result could potentially lead to arbitrary code execution, enabling attackers to gain unauthorized access, install malware, or cause denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Users are strongly urged to update their Tenda i6 routers to the latest software version to mitigate this vulnerability.
