Summary

CVE-2023-4889 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Shareaholic plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 9.7.8, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the 'shareaholic' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts are executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
