Summary

CVE-2023-48713 is a Denial-of-Service vulnerability affecting Knative Serving, a component of Knative on Kubernetes that enables deploying and serving of applications as serverless containers. An attacker with control over a pod can manipulate the responses from the /metrics endpoint, resulting in unbound memory allocation and subsequent autoscaler crashes. This non-privileged attack can cause a Denial-of-Service condition for the entire cluster. The vulnerability has been resolved in Knative Serving version 0.39.0.
