Summary

CVE-2023-48708 affects CodeIgniter Shield, an authentication and authorization provider for CodeIgniter 4. In vulnerable versions, successful login tokens are logged in plain text, posing a risk for unauthorized users who gain access to the log data. Malicious individuals can use these tokens to impersonate users and perform actions with their privileges. CodeIgniter Shield's developers have released version 1.0.0-beta.8 as a fix. Users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible, and those unable to do so should disable logging for successful login attempts in the configuration files.
