Summary

CVE-2023-48431 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting all versions of SINEC INS before V1.0 SP2 Update 2. This issue arises due to the software's failure to properly validate responses from an UMC server. An attacker can exploit this flaw by introducing a malicious UMC server or tampering with traffic from a legitimate one. Consequently, the affected software may crash, posing a significant risk if left unpatched.
