Summary

CVE-2023-48298 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting ClickHouse®, an open-source column-oriented database management system. This issue involves an integer underflow that leads to a stack buffer overflow during the decompression of FPC codec. Unauthenticated attackers can trigger and exploit this vulnerability, which is similar to the recently disclosed CVE-2023-47118 in its exploitation method. By taking advantage of this flaw, attackers can potentially crash ClickHouse servers and gain unauthorized access to sensitive data.
