Summary

CVE-2023-47996 is an integer overflow vulnerability discovered in Exif.cpp::jpeg_read_exif_dir of FreeImage 3.18.0. If exploited, this issue allows attackers to access confidential information and induce a denial of service. The integer overflow occurs during the processing of JPEG image files containing maliciously crafted Exif data, potentially enabling attackers to manipulate the software's behavior and gain unintended access to sensitive information.
