Summary

CVE-2023-4799 is a vulnerability affecting the Magic Embeds WordPress plugin before version 3.1.2. This issue permits users with the contributor role and above to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. The plugin fails to validate and properly escape certain shortcode attributes before rendering them on web pages or posts. As a result, an attacker can inject malicious scripts into these areas, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or other malicious activities. WordPress users are advised to update to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this risk.
