CVE-2023-4774

Summary

CVE-2023-4774 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP-Matomo Integration (WP-Piwik) plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 1.0.28, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the 'wp-piwik' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever an end user accesses an affected page.
