Summary

CVE-2023-4773 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WordPress Social Login plugin up to version 3.0.4. This issue allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into pages via the 'wordpress_social_login_meta' shortcode. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin create the vulnerability, enabling the execution of arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to WordPress websites using the Social Login plugin and should be promptly addressed by updating to the latest version or implementing appropriate security measures.
