Summary

CVE-2023-47631 is a vulnerability affecting the vantage6 framework, which is used for managing and deploying privacy enhancing technologies like Federated Learning (FL) and Multi-Party Computation (MPC). In susceptible versions, a node fails to verify if an image is authorized to run if a `parent_id` is established. An attacker who manages to infiltrate the server can manipulate it to set a false `parent_id` and send a task of an unapproved algorithm. As a result, the node will execute it due to the `parent_id` set, bypassing essential checks. This vulnerability affects all servers that have been breached by an expert user. A patch has been released in version 4.1.2. It is highly recommended for all users to upgrade as soon as possible, as there are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
