Summary

CVE-2023-47629 is a vulnerability affecting DataHub, an open-source metadata platform. In certain versions, the sign-up process through an invite link fails to prevent users from creating privileged accounts, including admin accounts. This occurs when the default datahub user has been removed but the default policies associated with that user remain. All DataHub installations prior to version 0.12.1 that have removed the datahub user while keeping the default policies are vulnerable. There are currently no known workarounds, and users are advised to update to the latest patch to mitigate the risk.
