Summary

CVE-2023-4725 is a vulnerability affecting the Simple Posts Ticker WordPress plugin before version 1.1.6. This issue allows high privilege users, including admins, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, bypassing the unfiltered_html capability restriction, even in multisite setups. The plugin fails to sanitize and escape certain settings, making it an exploitable security weakness. Successful attacks result in the injection of malicious code, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft. Upgrading to the latest plugin version mitigates this risk.
