Summary

CVE-2023-4716 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Media Library Assistant plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions 3.10 and below, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher to inject malicious scripts into the 'mla_gallery' shortcode. The shortcoming lies in insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes, enabling the attacker to execute arbitrary web scripts every time an injected page is accessed.
