Summary

CVE-2023-47128 is a SQL Injection vulnerability affecting Piccolo, an object-relational mapping and query builder that supports asyncio, prior to version 1.1.1. The issue lies in the handling of named transaction savepoints, which are vulnerable to SQL Injection via f-strings. Although the probability of an end developer exposing a savepoints name parameter to a user is low, if exploited, a malicious user could gain direct access to the database and modify data based on the associated database user permissions. Potential actions include reading all data, inserting arbitrary data, and gaining a shell on the underlying server. Version 1.1.1 effectively resolves this issue.
