Summary

CVE-2023-47117 is a vulnerability affecting Label Studio, an open source data labeling tool. Prior to version 1.9.2post0, the application allowed users to set filters insecurely, enabling an attacker to construct filter chains to access sensitive fields for all user accounts. This issue stems from Django's Object Relational Mapper (ORM), which can be exploited to manipulate query results and leak data character by character. Moreover, Label Studio contained a hard-coded secret key, enabling attackers to forge session tokens and access password hashes. The vulnerability was addressed in commit `f931d9d129`, and users are advised to upgrade to the latest version for protection. No known workarounds exist for this issue.
