Summary

CVE-2023-47102 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the UrBackup Server version 2.5.31. This issue allows an attacker to perform brute-force enumeration of user accounts through a failure message. If an incorrect username is entered during login attempts, the server responds with a message confirming that the username is not valid. By systematically trying different usernames, an attacker can determine which ones do not exist and thus build a list of valid usernames for potential exploitation. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to organizations that use UrBackup Server, especially those with weak account security practices. It is recommended that users update their UrBackup Server to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
