Summary
CVE-2023-46854 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Proxmox's proxmox-widget-toolkit, used in various Proxmox products, prior to version 4.0.9. This issue permits Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks through the edit notes feature, enabling malicious actors to inject malicious scripts into unsuspecting users' web browsers. Successful exploitation could lead to session hijacking, data theft, or other unintended actions. Users are advised to upgrade their Proxmox installations to the latest patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
