Summary

CVE-2023-46852 is a newly disclosed buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Memcached versions prior to 1.6.22. This issue is triggered when processing multiget requests in proxy mode, with the presence of excessive spaces following the "get" substring. An attacker can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code on the Memcached server, potentially leading to serious security implications, including data theft or server compromise. System administrators should update their Memcached installations to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
