Summary

CVE-2023-46739 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the open-source cloud-native file storage system, CubeFS. Prior to version 3.3.1, the CubeFS master component contained a timing attack vulnerability in its UserService. An untrusted attacker could exploit this flaw to steal user passwords by manipulating response times. The root cause was the use of raw string comparison for password verification. Upgrading to version 3.3.1 is the only known mitigation for this issue.
