Summary

CVE-2023-46604 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting the Java OpenWire protocol marshaller. An attacker with network access to a Java-based OpenWire broker or client can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating serialized class types in the OpenWire protocol. This allows the attacker to instantiate any class on the classpath, potentially leading to arbitrary shell command execution. Users are urged to upgrade to version 5.15.16, 5.16.7, 5.17.6, or 5.18.3 of OpenWire to mitigate this issue.
