Summary

CVE-2023-46601 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that affects COMOS, irrespective of its version. The issue stems from insufficient access controls within the application, which enables unauthorized SQLServer connections. Consequently, an attacker can exploit this weakness to directly access the database and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. Despite having limited user privileges, an attacker may successfully query the database, potentially compromising confidential data. Organizations using COMOS are advised to apply patches or updates as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
