Summary

CVE-2023-46283 is a vulnerability affecting Opcenter Quality (all versions < V2312), SIMATIC PCS neo (all versions < V4.1), SINEC NMS (all versions < V2.0 SP1), and various versions of the Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) including V14, V15.1, V16, V17, and V18 (all versions < V18 Update 3). An attacker can exploit this issue by sending specific requests to port 4002/tcp. The application contains an out-of-bounds write vulnerability, leading to buffer overflow beyond the allocated memory. This vulnerability enables an attacker to cause the application to crash. However, the affected service is designed to automatically restart following the crash, reducing the potential impact on system availability.
