Summary

CVE-2023-46245 is a serious vulnerability affecting versions prior to 2.1.0 of the Kimai time-tracking application. An attacker can exploit this Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI) vulnerability to gain Remote Code Execution (RCE) privileges. The weakness is found in the software's handling of Twig files, which can be manipulated during PDF and HTML rendering. A malicious user can upload a crafted Twig file, exploiting these functionalities to inject malicious code. With version 2.1.0, Kimai has introduced security measures for custom Twig templates, mitigating this risk.
