Summary

CVE-2023-46235 is a vulnerability affecting FOG, a free open-source cloning and imaging suite. Before version 1.5.10.15, this software failed to sanitize log requests, leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. Malicious XSS payloads, if successful, would be stored in log files. Subsequently, when an administrator accessed the log files through the FOG dashboard, the parsed HTML would display the attacker's code. To mitigate this risk, users can view logs through an external text editor instead. Version 1.5.10.15 includes a patch to address this issue.
