Summary

CVE-2023-4615 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting LG LED Assistant installations. This issue permits unauthenticated attackers to disclose sensitive information by exploiting a flaw in the /api/download/updateFile endpoint. The root cause of this vulnerability is the absence of adequate validation of user-supplied paths before their usage in file operations. Consequently, attackers can exploit this weakness to access and reveal information in the context of the current user.
