Summary

CVE-2023-46120 is a vulnerability affecting the RabbitMQ Java client library. The issue arises due to the lack of implementation of the `maxBodyLength` parameter when receiving Message objects. Malicious actors can exploit this flaw by sending oversized messages, causing memory overflow and ultimately triggering an Out-of-Memory Error (OOM) on the consumer side. This DoS (Denial-of-Service) attack can exhaust the memory of RabbitMQ consumers, posing a significant risk for organizations using RabbitMQ Java client for their applications. This vulnerability was addressed and resolved in version 5.18.0 of the RabbitMQ Java client.
