Summary

CVE-2023-4599 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Slimstat Analytics plugin for WordPress. This issue permits authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts via the 'eeb_mailto' shortcode in versions up to 2.1.7. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, leading to the execution of arbitrary web scripts whenever an injected page is accessed. This poses a significant security risk, as attackers could use this vulnerability to steal user data or carry out other malicious actions.
