Summary
CVE-2023-45883 is a newly disclosed privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the Qumu Multicast Extension for Windows before version 2.0.63. This issue arises during a repair process, where a standard user is granted SYSTEM privileges upon opening a pop-up window. Malicious actors can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code with elevated system permissions. Organizations using the Qumu Multicast Extension are advised to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
