Summary

CVE-2023-45822: A vulnerability was discovered in Artifact Hub, a web application used for managing packages and configurations for CNCF projects. A security researcher identified a default unsafe Rego built-in, which allowed for the use of HTTP requests in authorization policies. This posed a risk as these requests could be abused to access internal resources and forward responses to external entities. Artifact Hub's fine-grained authorization mechanism, which uses Open Policy Agent and Rego for policy definition, should have had this capability disabled by default. The issue has been addressed in version 1.16.0 and users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible, as no workarounds are currently available.
