Summary

CVE-2023-45815 affects ArchiveBox, an open-source web archiving system. Users who employ the `wget` extractor and view the output in the same browser session as the ArchiveBox admin site are at risk. Malicious JavaScript could exploit this vulnerability, potentially gaining admin credentials to manipulate snapshots, add or remove users, and perform actions limited only by an admin user. This issue arises due to the way ArchiveBox serves all content, including archived pages and the admin panel, from the same host and port. A patch is being developed, and users can mitigate the risk by disabling the `wget` extractor, ensuring they are always logged out, or publishing their archives as static HTML.
