Summary

CVE-2023-45806 is a vulnerability affecting Discourse, an open-source community discussion platform. Prior to versions 3.1.3 of the stable branch and 3.2.0.beta3 of the beta and tests-passed branches, a user with a full name containing a '|' symbol, who has been quoted, could trigger a bug causing excessive duplicate content in all the quoted posts. The issue does not have a known workaround, but patches have been released in versions 3.1.3 and 3.2.0.beta3 to mitigate the vulnerability. Users can minimize the impact by ensuring their full name only contains alphanumeric characters.
