Summary

CVE-2023-45663 is a vulnerability affecting the stb_image library, which is used for processing images. The issue lies in the function stbi__getn, which reads bytes from a context, such as a file. If the file stream reaches the end, the function returns zero. This return value is not checked in the stbi__hdr_load function and notably in the stbi__tga_load function. An attacker could exploit this oversight by controlling the file and manipulating its end, leading to potential buffer overflows and security breaches.
