Summary

CVE-2023-45591 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the "Ax_rtu" binary in the AiLux imx6 bundle. The "logger_generic" function in this binary contains a CWE-122 "Heap-based Buffer Overflow" flaw. This issue allows a remote, authenticated attacker to trigger a memory corruption, potentially leading to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition or even the execution of arbitrary code with root privileges. The vulnerability can be found in versions of the imx6_bundle below 1.0.7-2. Organizations using these affected versions are advised to update as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
