Summary

CVE-2023-45150 is a vulnerability affecting the Nextcloud Calendar app for the Nextcloud server platform. The issue stems from a lack of adequate precondition checks, causing the server to attempt email address validation on unusually large data inputs. This can result in the server becoming unresponsive as it processes megabytes of data. To mitigate this risk, it is strongly recommended that users upgrade their Nextcloud Calendar app to version 4.4.4. For those unable to upgrade, disabling the Nextcloud Calendar app is the only available workaround.
