Summary

CVE-2023-45139 is a new vulnerability affecting the fontTools library for manipulating fonts in Python. The subsetting module contains an XML External Entity Injection (XXE) flaw, which enables attackers to inject arbitrary entities when parsing a candidate font containing an SVG table. This potentially allows them to access files on the system or make web requests, posing a significant security risk. The issue has been addressed in version 4.43.0 of fontTools.
