Summary

CVE-2023-45135 is a vulnerability affecting the XWiki Platform, specifically versions 7.2-milestone-2 to 14.10.12 of `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-web` and prior versions 14.10.12 and 15.5-rc-1 of `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-web-templates`. This issue enables an attacker to execute scripts or gain full access to an XWiki instance by tricking a victim into creating a page with a hidden title. The victim must visit a malicious link and click the "Create" button for the code to be executed, which may not be visible on the page. This attack can be more effective if the attacker can place a fake "create page" button with edit rights. The vulnerability has been patched in versions 14.10.12 and 15.5-rc-1 of `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-web` and `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-web-templates`, which display the title in the first step. Manual patching is possible by replacing the minified JavaScript file.
