Summary

CVE-2023-45067 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions 2.1 and below of the WordPress Simple HTML Sitemap plugin by Ashish Ajani. An attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious scripts into a contributor's sitemap, allowing the scripts to be executed when the sitemap is accessed by other users. This can lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or site defacement. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to update to the latest plugin version, implement Content Security Policy (CSP), and limit user roles to prevent unauthorized access.
