Summary

CVE-2023-45008 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting WPJohnny Comment Reply Email plugin versions 1.0.3 and below. This administrative privilege escalation flaw allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into a website's comment section. Once executed, the scripts can steal user data, manipulate the page content, or even take control of user sessions. Successful exploitation relies on the attacker's ability to submit specially crafted comments to the targeted website. To mitigate this risk, users should promptly upgrade to the latest plugin version or consider disabling the plugin until a patch is available.
