Summary

CVE-2023-44985 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Cytech BuddyMeet plugin in versions 2.2.0 and below. An attacker can inject malicious scripts into a website using the BuddyMeet plugin's contribo+ authentication component. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected user, potentially resulting in session hijacking or data theft. Websites using the affected plugin version are at risk of this attack, and it is recommended that users upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this vulnerability.
