Summary

CVE-2023-4495 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Easy Chat Server version 3.1 and earlier. This issue stems from insufficient encryption of user-controlled inputs in the /registresult.htm (POST method) endpoint, specifically the Resume parameter. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts, which are then loaded by the /register.ghp page, potentially gaining unauthorized access to users' data or taking control of their sessions.
