Summary

CVE-2023-44399 affects ZITADEL's identity infrastructure, where in versions 2.37.2 and prior, the "Ignoring unknown usernames" setting meant to mitigate username enumeration attacks during authentication was bypassed on the password reset flow. Consequently, an attacker could verify the existence of accounts within ZITADEL, even with this feature enabled. This vulnerability was patched in versions 2.37.3 and 2.38.0, and no known workarounds are available.
