Summary

CVE-2023-44395 is a vulnerability affecting Autolab, a course management service used for autograding programming assignments. Versions of Autolab prior to 2.12.0 are vulnerable to path traversal attacks, allowing instructors to read arbitrary files. This issue can result in unauthorized access to sensitive data and poses a significant risk. A patch has been released in version 2.12.0, but there are currently no feasible workarounds for affected users. Autolab instructors are urged to upgrade their systems as soon as possible to mitigate this vulnerability.
