Summary

CVE-2023-44270 is a vulnerability affecting PostCSS versions before 8.4.31. This issue allows an attacker to inject malicious CSS code into untrusted stylesheets. The attacker can craft CSS that contains parts intended for comments, which PostCSS will parse and include in its output as rules or properties, despite them being within comments. This bypasses the intended protection provided by the linter, posing a serious threat to applications using PostCSS for parsing external stylesheets.
