Summary

CVE-2023-44256 is a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability [CWE-918] affecting Fortinet FortiAnalyzer versions 7.4.0, 7.2.0 through 7.2.3, and before 7.0.8, as well as FortiManager versions 7.4.0, 7.2.0 through 7.2.3, and before 7.0.8. This issue allows a low-privileged remote attacker to access sensitive data from internal servers or execute a local port scan through specially crafted HTTP requests. By manipulating the request, the attacker can potentially bypass access controls and gain unauthorized insights or perform reconnaissance on the target network. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to organizations using these Fortinet products and requires immediate patching to mitigate the threat.
