Summary

CVE-2023-43798 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting BigBlueButton, an open-source virtual classroom software. The flaw, which is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), is a bypass of an earlier vulnerability, CVE-2023-33176. Prior to versions 2.6.12 and 2.7.0-rc.1, BigBlueButton fails to prevent follow redirect at `httpclient.execute`, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary HTTP requests and potentially gain unauthorized access to internal resources. No known workarounds exist, and it is strongly recommended that users upgrade to the patched versions to mitigate this risk.
