Summary

CVE-2023-43742 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability affecting various Zultys MX models, including the MX-SE, MX-SE II, MX-E, MX-Virtual, MX250, and MX30. These systems have firmware versions prior to 17.0.10 patch 17161 and 16.04 patch 16109. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this flaw, which stems from a failure in the protection mechanism of the authentication function. Normally, upon unsuccessful authentication attempts, the server sends a login failure message and terminates the connection. However, if the client ignores this message and continues to communicate, the server processes subsequent requests without proper authentication, allowing the attacker to obtain an administrative session.
