Summary

CVE-2023-43659 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Discourse, an open-source community discussion platform. The issue stems from improper input escaping in the digest email preview UI, enabling attackers to inject malicious scripts. This vulnerability only poses a threat to sites with Content Security Policy (CSP) disabled. Discourse has released patches for this issue in its 3.1.1 stable version and 3.2.0.beta1 release. Platform administrators are strongly advised to upgrade as soon as possible or enable CSP to mitigate the risk.
