Summary

CVE-2023-43242 is a newly identified stack overflow vulnerability affecting D-Link DIR-816 A2 v1.10CNB05 routers. This issue can be exploited through the form2IPQoSTcDel with a maliciously crafted removeRuleList parameter. The vulnerability allows an attacker to send specially crafted packets to the affected device, resulting in a buffer overflow and potential takeover of the router. Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to the router's configuration, and potentially further compromise of the network connected to it. Users are advised to apply the available patch or update their routers as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
