Summary

CVE-2023-42813 is a newly discovered denial-of-service vulnerability in the Kyverno policy engine for Kubernetes. Affecting the Notary verifier component, an attacker with control over a registry used by Kyverno could return malicious responses, causing Kyverno to deny service and block processing of admission requests for other users. This vulnerability only impacts users building Kyverno from the main branch, which is not the recommended approach. Official Kyverno releases remain unaffected, and no known exploitations have occurred in the wild.
